Iceland could be a great place to enjoy nature holidays, with its vast range of picturesque natural landscapes.
According to Sigga Gróa Þórarinsdóttir, marketing manager for UK and Ireland at the Icelandic Tourist Board, visitors may be taken aback by the unspoilt environment found in the country.
She commented: "Part of Iceland's appeal is its pristine unpolluted environment, outstanding and diverse nature and huge expanses of unspoilt rugged terrain.
"We are popular with travellers that love nature, the great outdoors, wildlife lovers and more adventurous outdoor activities."
A holiday in Iceland might also include a trip to Reykjavik, which could be a great choice for those looking for city breaks with easy access to waterfalls, glaciers and hot springs.
In addition, the country may have plenty of appeal throughout the year with long hours of daylight in the summer and the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights in the winter.
Those on a budget might have a fantastic opportunity to see Iceland in 2010, as Travelmole recently picked up on a report from Lonely Planet which showed the nation is among its top ten value destinations.
In particular, the study noted that the economic difficulties experienced by the country over the last year have made exchange rates more favourable.
