Honeymoon holidays

Honeymoon holidaysYour honeymoon is one of the most important and significant holidays you will ever take, so make it a good one! The absolute key to planning a honeymoon is ‘do what you want to do’. There is no right or wrong destination or ‘type’ of honeymoon – it’s about you and your spouse and nothing else. Adequate planning and organizing to suit your budget is all that’s required so you can have a memorable trip.

The choices available are vast and the possibilities endless so here at the Travellers Club we have tried to make it a little easier for you.

It can be daunting and frustrating planning a honeymoon after you just organised a whole wedding!? So many adverts and ideas can leave you in need of some direction.

A Caribbean cruise, a week in Hawaii or an adventure safari in Africa? If you start early and give it a lot of thought it needn’t be a stressful task.

Here are our top tips for planning your honeymoon holiday

  • Ask your newlywed friends for advice or recommendations
  • Research in the many magazines on offer with ideas and inspirations
  • Agree on your budget and then narrow down the type of honeymoon you both fancy – luxurious and lazy? Adventurous? Cultural?
  • Pick your destination and consider weather, travel time, tourist seasons, possible vaccinations required and whether it’s a suitable location for couples.
  • Choose your accommodation, and consider how much time you will spend in your room, how much luxury you want and what is on offer.
  • Time to Book; It‘s up to you whether you use a Travel Agent or book online. (Using the internet is easy and accessible, but be sure all the special touches you want are reserved correctly. Call the resort direct before you go to verify)
  • Packages are often the way to go to get more for your money, and mentioning you are honeymooners can bring a lot of added extras your way!
  • Sounds obvious – but check your passport is valid!! Getting caught up in a lot of wedding and holiday preparation you can overlook the obvious!
  • You don’t have to go to exotic locations to enjoy the ultimate romantic honeymoon; there are plenty of options closer to home, such as English cottages or exploring Ireland. You can tailor make your trip to fit you perfectly and ensure a truly special experience.
