If you decide that this Valentine’s Day your other half deserves something out of the ordinary then why not treat them to a romantic getaway that they are sure to remember for a long time to come.

Edinburgh
If you don’t want to venture too far afield then there are plenty of romantic cities to visit right here in the UK. Edinburgh is one of the most romantic cities in the world and is just a train ride away here in the UK if you want to avoid airports and long flights.
The highlights of the city include a visit to Edinburgh castle, where you and your loved one can enjoy a walk around the castle grounds as well as enjoying the fantastic views of the city. Once you have visited the castle why not head for the Edinburgh ghost tour, it might not sound romantic at first but what could be more romantic than snuggling up to your other half to stop them being scared of the ghosts and ghouls!
New York
If you’re ready to splash the cash and fancy a break that’s that little bit further afield, then New York is sure to impress your other half. What could be more romantic than whisking them off to the big apple itself? You can enjoy romantic strolls through central park, ice skating at the Rockefeller Centre and stunning views from the Empire State Building.
If your partner has a sweet tooth why not treat them to the chocolate shop tour, the guided tour will take you to the best chocolates shops Manhattan has to offer, show you how the chocolates are made and allow you to sample some of the delights on offer.
Barcelona
Barcelona is a great place to go for a mini-break from the UK, the flight time is a short 2 hours and the weather is usually warmer than back at home, in February you would be looking at an average of 13⁰C. Highlights of the city include the fantastic shopping – if you want to treat your other half to a present this is the perfect place to do so.
Taking a walk down the famous Las Ramblas and enjoying the famous street art and entertainment is another popular thing to whilst in Barcelona as well as admiring the fantastic architecture of Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia. Rome
Rome is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and a great place to visit with the one you love. If a romantic meal is your idea of spoiling your other half, this is the place to do it as Italy, and Rome in particular is known for producing some of the best food in the world. Popular attractions include the Trevi fountain, where legend states that if you throw a coin into the fountain you will return to Rome – a perfect why of securing another romantic getaway!
A visit to the Vatican city and a walk around St Peters Square is also a must when in the city. The architecture of the city provides the perfect romantic backdrop for a couple in love.
